The Story Behind EarthOSea

“Not all those who wander are lost.” – J.R.R. Tolkien

By EarthOSea

Hi. My name is Alexandrina and I am the owner and founder of EarthOSea.

EarthOSea came as an idea back in 2017 when I had absolutely no clue how I am going to get this blog to life. I didn’t even pick a name for it until 2019! Yes, that is the truth. That is a shame! I needed lots of time to figure out how I want everything to look and I wanted it to be perfect. Little did I know that perfection does not go hand in hand with blogging. I learnt it the hard way…

Anyway, in the beginning of 2019 my idea was finally materialized and running. And that is when I realized that blogging is not at all just about writing. Nowadays, blogging would require you to be a graphic designer, photographer, writer and a social media guru!

I would be honest with you and tell you that I had lots of emotional breakdowns over this. However, my never ending passion for travelling, exploring and sharing my experiences with people is stronger than me. So, here I am writing and doing my best to deliver the most useful content I can to my readers!

Probably you are wondering what does EarthOSea means. It is simple – Earth and Sea! No, just kidding! EarthOSea for me represents everything on this planet gathered into ONE. In other words, I would describe the meaning behind it as UNITY.

My Story

I was born and grew in a small city in Central Bulgaria. When I was little my family was not travelling a lot if not at all. We would usually go to the seaside for a week or more if I was lucky and that would be it.

However, I remember when my mum was buying me the book series of Where’s Wally? She used to read it to me when I was younger every night before going to bed. I clearly remember that and I truly believe this was the moment my wanderlust was unlocked!

Then, I learnt how to read and read all of the series I had. I was like 7 or 8 years old. I had no idea how big this world actually is! I remember being intrigued by the customs, traditions and history of other countries I have never even heard of. Honestly, back then, I never even imagined that I would have the chance to visit any of them. And here I am extensively travelling for the past 3 years…

I am not a great supporter of travelling for the sake of showing off to your friends, family or acquaintances. I travel to learn. I travel to explore. I travel to rediscover. You won’t see me showing off or having all those influencing speeches or pictures. I don’t even count the countries I have been to. This is just not me.

I do travel for the sole purpose of exploring. Exploring everything around me and within me.

What you can expect from me is sharing everything I learnt along the way. Or everything I know about a place. Secret paths and places. I love that. And I would happily share it with others. Also, I would teach you ways of travelling on a budget, which will save you lots of cash and time figuring things out.

Unfortunately, I am not a jack of all trades, so I might not always be right. If you find out I shared some false information feel free to contact me. I would love to hear your feedback and work on getting better.
